Background

RBL RBL represented Mr. Tetsuya Miyamoto, a Japanese mathematician renowned for his international contributions. Mr. Miyamoto is internationally known for his KENKEN® puzzles. As successor to the sudoku puzzles, KENKEN® appears regularly in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and The Times (London). KENKEN® was also featured on The Martha Stewart Show.

In 1993, Mr. Miyamoto began his career as an educator as the founder of “Miyamoto’s Math Classroom” in Yokohama, Japan, a nationally acclaimed tutoring program, helping students gain admission to competitive junior high schools in the Tokyo area. In 1995, Mr. Miyamoto began creating his renowned math puzzles geared towards helping his elementary school students. In 2009, “Miyamoto’s Math Classroom” moved its location to Tokyo where it continued to draw national attention for its cutting edge approach to teaching.

Mr. Miyamoto has been featured on numerous Japanese television programs for his groundbreaking work in primary education. In addition, Mr. Miyamoto has authored over 180 books that have sold over three million copies worldwide. Based on his global success, Mr. Miyamoto was inspired to expand his teaching philosophy to students in the United States, opening a school in New York City in 2015.

Mr. Miyamoto was referred to RBL by JETRO NY (Japan External Trade Organization), and RBL immediately commenced work on his case. (RBL regularly works alongside JETRO NY, an independent governmental trade agency founded in Japan, to assist businesses in their US market entry.

  • Obtained US Permanent Residence Status (Green card) for Mr. Miyamoto based on his extraordinary ability in the field of Education (EB1 Category). (The entire process from application to green card interview was completed in approximately six months.)
  • Provided counseling on licensing requirements for an educational institution in New York City with regard to the opening of his US business
  • Assisted in ancillary matters such as translation of documents and general business assistance relating to US residency such as securing a social security number.
